Seasonal Support: Vata Balancing Chai

 

 

The dry winds of Vata Season can be very aggravating to our Doshic Balance. Anyone can be affected by this. If you are feeling increased anxiety or worry, then your Vata Dosha may be out of balance. Drinking warm, nourishing and grounding tea can be one way to bring harmony to the body. I created this rooting Vata Balancing Chai Recipe to offer support.

Fun Fact: "Chai" is the Hindi word for "Tea"

Vata Balancing Tea

In a medium saucepan add:

- 4 cups water

- 1oz Dandelion Root

- 1oz Sarsaparilla Root

- 1oz Chicory Root

- 1oz Ashwagandha Root

 

Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer until liquid is reduced by half.

 

Add in:

- 1tsp Cinnamon Powder

- 1tsp Cardamom Powder

- 1tsp Coriander Powder

- 1tsp Ginger Powder

- 1 Pinch of Black Pepper

 

Once combined, turn off the heat.

Strain the tea through a nut milk bag or strainer.

 

Top it off with:

- Oat Milk

- Raw Honey
