Come join Angie Banicki and Kari Jansen this Midsummer Eve on June 21 from 11-2 for a lovely day filled learning tarot and herbs.
The summer solstice, also known as midsummer, occurs when one of the Earth's poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun. This is often the time of the first harvest and hence a celebration of this bounty has been held for hundreds of years. The sun, Sol, brings life to growing crops in the field. This is reflected in the midsummer rituals of harvesting herbs, for this special day brings added vigor, potency to the herbs for medicine and spells.
This introduction to tarot will help you to understand how the cards can be a guide to trusting your inner self!
Tarot can be a fun way to help guide decision making, understand situations that you're questioning, and give insights into the shifts you need to happen in your life or even the people around you. You'll be surprised at how much you already know and how much paying attention to yourself through the cards can help you grow and find what you need in career, relationship and life. You'll leave more open to the signs that life is trying to show you!
We will be celebrating the Summer Solstice by learning and making magical teas from herbs and flowers that represent the Midsummers Eve. Like St John's Wort with its solar yellow flowers, is the most frequently mentioned herb of Midsummer for it blooms on the Solstice. These herbal teas represent the Earth and Water elements. And we will be making Sage, Mugwort and Rose bundles which represent the Fire and Air elements. The elements represent the four suits in the Tarot card deck. Cups...Water Rods....Fire Swords....Air Pentacles....Earth
